The Health Benefits of Rebounding
To get an idea of how helpful rebounding is, just think about what happens to
your whole body when you jump up and down. The force with which you return to
the ground can be up to 3.5 times your weight on each bounce. That means every muscle in your
entire body tenses and reacts to the effect of gravity. Even though there is work
being performed by every muscle in your body, your joints suffer no stress since
the rebounder absorbs a large majority of the impact, making it a low-impact exercise.
In fact, according to a study performed by researches in the University of Kentucky,
in conjunction with NASA, "the magnitude of the biomechanical stimuli is greater
with jumping on a trampoline than with running." In other words, you will burn
more calories by jumping on a rebounder than jogging.
One of the most beneficial effects of rebounding is the natural way it pumps and
stimulates your lymphatic system. Everyone has lymph nodes in their bodies and
these nodes are responsible for cleaning your system of toxins and other materials
that the body considers waste. Unfortunately, the lymph system does not have its
own pump and so many health problems can result with stagnant waste that builds
up as a result of a lack of lymph node circulation. Exercise in general promotes
lymphatic movement but rebounding specifically targets the lymphatic system due
to the effect of gravity on the entire body. As a result many customers find joint
pains, muscular pains, and arthritic conditions lessen or heal completely after
using a rebounder for only a few days. Such conditions can be brought about by
a lack of circulation, and since promoting circulation is a rebounder's specialty,
the benefits can be felt quickly.
Healthy blood circulation is a very necessary part of staying healthy and the
effect of gravitational forces on your legs and entire body promote better blood
flow, strengthening your heart. The balance required to maintain a steady footing
while on the rebounder is also good for the brain as it stimulates certain enzymes
that improve the nervous system as a whole. So, when you're jumping not only are
you getting a complete full body workout in every muscle of your body, you're
stimulating your mind sub-consciously with mental and visual co-ordination. This not only aids in keeping the mind focused and healthy, it can
aid our older customers in keeping balance the rest of the day!
